Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura unveils terraced resort in Albanian coastal forest

architecture-design · 2026-04-28

The Veil is a unique eco-friendly resort located in Dhërmi, Albania, created by Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura. This project includes 366 apartments and 77 villas, featuring sixteen different designs set within a lush, steep coastal forest. Pablo Bofill, along with Hernán Cortés and Alborz Mohammadi, leads the development, which carefully follows the land's natural shape to limit excavation through stepped levels. The buildings, constructed with green-hued concrete and glazed ceramics, blend with the existing trees and provide stunning views of the Adriatic Sea. A series of paths and stairs made from locally sourced stone in four colors will connect the area. Additionally, a communal building is underway, which will house a social club, restaurant, gym, pools, and a courtyard around ancient trees, designed by Vivian Rotie and managed by Enrique Mascrot with XPLAN Studio.
