RIBA Names Four Projects for 2026 Neave Brown Award Shortlist

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has just announced the shortlist for the 2026 Neave Brown Award for Housing, showcasing exceptional new affordable housing in the UK. Out of the four projects nominated, three are in London and one is in Glasgow. The London entries include Rowan Court by Satish Jassal Architects, providing 46 social rent homes in a Haringey council estate; Lion Green Road, a project by Mary Duggan Architects and RUFF Architects with 157 homes in Croydon; and Canada Water Plot K1 by Morris+Company and White Ink, which features 79 homes near a woodland. In Glasgow, Jmarchitects' St Andrew's Drive Phases 2 & 3 will replace a 1960s block with 120 homes around green space. The jury, led by Helen Lee, praised these designs for reflecting Neave Brown's ideals of community-focused architecture. The winner will be revealed at the RIBA Stirling Prize ceremony on October 15 in London, where they also announced the Stirling Prize shortlist, including Renzo Piano's Paddington Square among the top 32 buildings in Britain for 2026.
