RIBA Announces 37 Winners for 2015 National Architecture Awards
The Royal Institute of British Architects revealed thirty-seven recipients of its 2015 National Awards. These honors recognize exceptional architectural projects throughout the United Kingdom, considering all forms, scales, and financial constraints. A Scottish whisky distillery, a Hampshire fishing hut, and Manchester's Whitworth gallery were among the distinguished structures. Fourteen London buildings also received recognition, including Foyles bookshop and the National Theatre. Established in 1966, the annual awards will inform the shortlist for the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize, which identifies the UK's finest building each year. That shortlist is scheduled for announcement on July 16, 2015.
