festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The fourth edition of SonarPLANTA, a collaboration between the Sónar festival in Barcelona and the Fundació Sorigué, will feature a new media installation by the Tokyo-based research lab Rhizomatiks, founded by Daito Manabe and Motoi Ishibashi. Titled Phosphere (light sphere), the project is an hybrid robotic architecture that creates a spatial experience using 24 projectors, synchronized mirrors, smoke machines, and light beams. The installation aims to replicate crystallization processes of minerals, with movements inspired by Earth's magnetic fields. The event takes place from June 15 to 17, 2017.
