Reza Raeisifar and Saber Abar Transform Steel Spheres into Modular Furniture
Designers Reza Raeisifar and Saber Abar unveiled Wishes Collection, a series of furniture and objects crafted from identical polished steel spheres. The collection includes chairs, a bench, a rocking chair, a floor lamp, and a pet shelter, all derived from a spherical component typically used on railings. The modular system allows pieces to be assembled and configured by users, creating a common visual language that varies in scale and arrangement. The Chair features a upright high back; the Bench combines horizontal spheres with a red seat; the Rocking Chair pairs metal spheres with curved runners; and the Floor Lamp uses reflective surfaces to interact with light. The collection's name references the fragmented reflections of users across the spheres. The project was submitted via designboom's DIY submissions feature, edited by Iñaki Laguardia, with images by Erfan Safaei, Abar Studio, and Farnaz Vahed.
