Rewindpix Digital Film Camera Raises $870K on Kickstarter
Rewindpix, a digital compact camera designed by photographer and designer Xiao Liu, has raised over $870,000 on Kickstarter with 11 days left in its campaign. The camera offers an analog experience with a large optical viewfinder, tactile winder, swappable shutter release, and no rear screen—only a small LCD for battery, filter, and shot count. It features a Film Mode using virtual rolls of 36 shots with up to three film filters, plus a traditional unlimited digital mode. Users can customize filters via the Rewindpix app, adjusting saturation, exposure, contrast, grain, vignette, light leaks, and timestamps. The camera uses a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensor, 35mm equivalent f/2.2 lens, and is built from metal and PVC, weighing 185g. It includes a Xenon flash, cold shoe, 1/4-inch tripod mount, and accepts 43mm filters. Available in sand dune and moon rock colors, with add-ons like bags and straps. Backer price starts at $99; MSRP is $169. Shipping begins June 2026.
