Revolution: Immersive Sound Experience on 1960s Counterculture at Fabbrica del Vapore, Milan

exhibition · 2026-05-05

After the success of 'David Bowie is', Sennheiser and the Victoria and Albert Museum of London have partnered again for 'Revolution. Musica e ribelli 1966-1970' at Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan. The exhibition uses immersive 3D audio and headphones to explore the late 1960s, covering music from the Beatles to Woodstock, as well as social movements like feminism, environmentalism, and protests against war and capitalism. Seven sections narrate the radical transformation of the era, including fashion's Youthquake, pop music, underground press, recreational sex, communes, transcendental meditation, and hallucinogenic substances. The show features memorabilia, a Che Guevara poster based on Alberto Konda's photograph, and a final room where visitors sit on giant poufs to watch the entire Woodstock festival on a large screen with synchronized audio. The article, written by Francesca Mattozzi, was published in Grandi Mostre #8 and on Artribune.
