Reverie performs four-and-a-half-hour dream song at Palazzina Liberty in Milan

other · 2026-04-27

On September 12, 2020, from 4 PM to 8:30 PM, the artist Reverie performed a four-and-a-half-hour vocal piece at Palazzina Liberty Dario Fo e Franca Rame in Milan. The performance, titled "Sogno 2: The Sleeping Muse," involved singing texts of dreams submitted by participants via an online platform since January 2020, including lockdown dreams. The work uses dreams, voice, body, and audience imagination. The title references Constantin Brancusi's sculpture "The Sleeping Muse" and the nocturnal truth of dreams. Curator Raffaella Perna described the piece as working with the raw materiality of the voice as a plastic, corporeal element connecting the artist's physical experience with participants' dream lives. The performance was in collaboration with Fondazione Mudima, curated by Raffaella Perna, with video footage by Marco Ligabue. Collected material will be used to create a synthetic artwork.
