Reuben Keehan Named Artistic Director of Manila's New Kontempo Contemporary Art Center
Reuben Keehan has been appointed as the artistic director of Kontempo, a new contemporary art center in Manila's Circuit Makati Cultural District. This center will feature three galleries that cover 2,500 square meters, along with 15,000 square meters of outdoor space for installations and gardens. The design comes from Kulapat Yantrasast of WHY Architecture, in partnership with Lor Calma & Partners. Kontempo is set to focus on exhibitions, commissions, research, and community projects. Before this, Keehan spent over a decade curating contemporary art at Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane. His work included significant contributions to the Asia Pacific Triennial and the "YAYOI KUSAMA" exhibition in Singapore. The Ayala Foundation announced his new role, and Keehan is eager to create a vibrant space that connects artists with the community.
