Restored 'Metropolis' by Rintarō returns to Italian cinemas
Nexo Digital is bringing a restored version of Rintarō's 2001 anime film 'Metropolis' to Italian cinemas from October 13 to 15, 2025. The film, produced by Studio Madhouse, is based on Osamu Tezuka's manga and features a screenplay by Katsuhiro Ōtomo. It explores themes of artificial intelligence, identity, and social inequality in a futuristic city where humans and robots coexist. The screening launches the new season of Nexo Studios Anime al Cinema, followed by Satoshi Kon's 'Tokyo Godfathers' from November 24 to 26, 2025.
