RestART Festival Opens Palermo's Monuments at Night

RestART, a festival in Palermo, opens over twenty historic sites and museums every Friday and Saturday night from July 3 to August 29, 2020, in response to post-lockdown cultural recovery. The initiative, born from a collaboration between Associazione Amici dei Musei Siciliani and Digitrend (a digital transformation company that developed a smart booking, ticketing, and audioguide platform), is under the patronage of the Comune di Palermo and the Assessorato Regionale ai Beni Culturali e all'Identità siciliana. Participating venues include the Church of Santa Caterina, Spasimo, Palazzo Abatellis, Palazzo Mirto, Museo Archeologico Salinas, Museo Riso, Palazzo Branciforte, Villa Zito, Teatro Massimo, Orto Botanico, Oratorio dei Bianchi, Church of the Catena, Church of SS. Salvatore, Church of S. Matteo, Torre di S. Antonio, Church of Casa Professa, Archivio Comunale, Church of the Gancia, Church of S. Giovanni degli Eremiti, Oratorio di S. Lorenzo, Oratorio di S. Mercurio, Oratorio di S. Cita, and Oratorio del SS. Rosario in San Domenico. Sites are open from 7 PM to midnight. Tickets cost €3 if purchased online via restartpalermo.it or €4 at the entrance if available. The festival aims to promote proximity tourism and allow locals and visitors to rediscover cultural heritage amid reduced tourist numbers due to the pandemic.
