architecture-design · 2026-04-09

In 2026, the Qing Shui Meditation Retreat will be inaugurated in Anxi, Quanzhou, China, thanks to a partnership between RESP Studio and Xiamen Pan-China. This innovative design repurposes an abandoned bus station adjacent to the Qingshuiyan Ancestral Temple, a revered site for over 100 million devotees since the Northern Song Dynasty. Amenities include vegetarian restaurants, tea houses, and relaxation areas. Fujian Anzhuo Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. is responsible for construction, while Chengdu Yizhanzhan Lighting Design handles the lighting. The design team also includes Chen Zhishan and others, with documentation by photographer Xiao Tan. The total area of the project is 1,030 square meters.
