Residenza Poietica 2024: Digital Technologies and Poetic Practices in Turin

The fourth edition of Residenza Poietica, a residency for poets promoted by cultural association Amalgama in collaboration with Fondazione Merz, took place in Turin from August 27 to September 17, 2024. The selected artists—Emanuele Caprioli (Milan, 1993), Caterina Dufì (Lecce, 1998), and Simone Spampinato (Catania, 1999)—were chosen through an open call. The theme, "Tecnosciamanismo, Alchimie in versi nell’era dell’iperconnessione," focuses on digital technologies and includes public events with experts in mediality and contemporary artistic languages. Workshops include dramaturgy in artistic research by Ricerca X, creating visual art through code by Mekit, and immersive meditation and performance with Greek artist Angelo Plessas, who also conceived the call's concept. The residency culminates in a performance titled "Del nostro scavo continuo" on September 14 at Fondazione Merz (Via Limone 24, Turin), from 19:00 to 21:45, with three 45-minute slots. The site-specific installation is immersive and minimal, centered on the image of a well, combining voice, sound, and autostereograms created with Mekit. The artists describe it as a collective and personal space for reflection on the relationship between ecstatic possibilities and new digital media. Admission is free but requires reservation.
