Repubblica del Design Wins Grant for Circular Economy Project at Milan's Fuorisalone
Associazione Repubblica del Design has received the inaugural Bando 57 grant from the Fondazione di Comunità Milano for their initiative "Da cosa nasce cosa" (From Things Come Things), which focuses on fostering sustainable welfare in the Bovisa area. This project employs a circular economy approach to transform plastic waste and discarded masks into public design items such as seating. Creative groups from Lancetti, Isola, Dergano, and Bovisa will be responsible for the designs, with production handled by local fablabs like Design Differente. Workshops led by BePart and Ghigos will repurpose waste into art. The program kicks off in April, and prototypes will be showcased in September at Salone del Mobile. Collaborating partners include Associazioni Revel, BovisAttiva, Frieco, and Politecnico di Milano.
