Renzo Buttazzo and Daniele Dell’Angelo Custode Dual Exhibition in Lecce
A large corten steel structure now occupies the square in front of the Convitto Palmieri in Lecce, reaching toward the sky and engaging with the surrounding architecture, including the monument to Giosuè Carducci by Luigi Guacci. The work, by Daniele Dell’Angelo Custode, opens a dual exhibition with Renzo Buttazzo, curated by Mariella Agostinacchio for Festinamente, part of the Muse Musei Musiche program promoted by the Assessorato all’industria turistica e culturale della Regione Puglia. Fifty years after the first moon landing, the two artists reflect dialectically through forms and materials, with the exhibition set up in the internal spaces and cloister of the convitto, which also functions as a library frequented by students and scholars. The works range from sinuous to sharp, soft to rigorous, evoking suggestions of stars, satellites, lunar faces, and dreamlike declinations.
