RendezVous – Bruxelles Art Week: First Edition Set for September 2025

festival-fair · 2026-04-06

The first edition of RendezVous – Bruxelles Art Week will take place from September 4 to 7, 2025, uniting galleries, institutions, artist-run spaces, and studios across the city. Following a preliminary launch in 2024, the event offers a curated neighborhood-by-neighborhood itinerary to showcase Brussels' hybrid creative scene. On September 5, Downtown (historic center to Molenbeek) features exhibitions, performances, and studio visits; September 6 covers Midtown (Sablon, Saint-Gilles, Forest); and September 7 concludes in Uptown (Ixelles). The symbolic and operational hub is the Salon de RendezVous at Rue de la Régence 67, near Mont des Arts, transformed by British artist Zoe Williams into a multisensory installation with cocktails, electronic sounds, and improvised conversations—a living control room serving as ephemeral bar, talk stage, DJ set venue, and meeting point for professionals and the public. Founders Laure Decock and Evelyn Simons describe Brussels as a unique, centrally located city with fierce creative energy, where young artists can afford to live and work, supported by a network of galleries, renowned institutions, and self-managed experimental spaces. They highlight its enriching diversity, fascinating chaos, and avant-garde tradition spanning over 100 years, blending new trends with strong historical-artistic traditions.
