Render newsletter returns with focus on San Gimignano and Siena urban regeneration
The 52nd issue of Render, Artribune's newsletter dedicated to urban and cultural regeneration, will be released on Monday, March 2, 2026. The lead story covers the recovery and reactivation of the former Convent of San Domenico in San Gimignano, a 13,000-square-meter site that represents one-tenth of the historic center. The project, led and funded by Opera Laboratori with the Region of Tuscany and the Municipality of San Gimignano, will include a museum, exhibition space, and other facilities. Eugenio Giani, president of the Region of Tuscany, stated that the multifunctional complex will have an attraction capacity equal to that of the towers that made San Gimignano famous. The second feature focuses on the regeneration of the Santa Maria della Scala complex in Siena, involving three prominent architectural firms: LAN Architecture, Studio Odile Decq, and Hannes Peer Architecture. The newsletter also includes the Osservatorio Rigenerazione section, which provides updates on regeneration, reuse, restoration, and redevelopment projects in Italian cities such as Naples, Rome, Turin, and Sassari, as well as international updates. Render was launched by Artribune in January 2024, curated by Carolina Chiatto and Valentina Silvestrini, and is sent free every two weeks. Over 50 issues have been produced, and the newsletter has become a regular appointment for thousands of readers across Italy.
