Renato Mambor Retrospective at Galleria Gruppo Credito Valtellinese in Milan
Currently, Galleria Gruppo Credito Valtellinese in Milan is showcasing a significant retrospective of Renato Mambor (Rome, 1936–2014), under the curation of Dominique Stella. This exhibition displays more than eighty pieces created between the late 1950s and 2014. Mambor, an influential member of the Scuola di Piazza del Popolo, shifted away from Pop Art following a trip to New York in 1966. His artistic philosophy, reminiscent of Arte Povera, sought to dematerialize art. Collaborating with notable artists such as Tano Festa, Francesco Lo Savio, Pino Pascali, Mario Schifano, and Cesare Tacchi, the show includes works from the Archivio Mambor, featuring the Trousse installation (1976) with actress Paola Pitagora and the iconic Re di Cuori sculptural group.
