Renan Laru-an guiderà SAVVY Contemporary come direttore artistico
Renan Laru-an è stato nominato direttore artistico di SAVVY Contemporary a partire da gennaio. Succede al fondatore Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung, che dirigerà l'Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) a Berlino. Laru-an è stato selezionato da una giuria che includeva l'artista Oscar Murillo e i curatori Koyo Kouoh e Nora Sternfeld. L'istituzione ha elogiato la sua 'crudezza e vulnerabilità' e la sua 'pratica poetica' che affronta questioni urgenti al di là di progetti a breve termine. Laru-an ha co-fondato la Philippine Contemporary Art Network (PCAN), un'istituzione pubblica presso il Vargas Museum dell'Università delle Filippine.
