Reiser for ever: A Posthumous Homage by 29 Cartoonists
Denoël has published 'Reiser for ever', a tribute album to the French cartoonist Reiser (Jean-Marc Reiser), who died 20 years ago. The volume is initiated and prefaced by Jean-Marc Parisis, who invited 29 cartoonists to create works in dialogue with Reiser's legacy. Contributors include former colleagues from Hara-Kiri and Charlie-Hebdo—such as Wiaz, Cabu, Charb, Luz, Gotlib, Delhomme, and Pétillon—as well as younger artists who never knew Reiser but regard him as a major reference. The artists were given complete creative freedom. The book juxtaposes Reiser's satirical, often crude depictions of everyday life with contemporary interpretations, highlighting his enduring influence as a 'voyeur, libertine, moralist, inventor, visionary, utopian'.
