Regione Lazio launches €1.2M in grants for young artists and street art
The Lazio Region has announced two new public calls totaling €1.2 million to support young creativity and contemporary art. The first call, Lazio Contemporaneo, opens July 7 with a €1 million budget for 20 new contemporary artworks by artists under 35. The second, Lazio Street Art, opens July 9 with €200,000 for urban art projects by local administrations. Both close September 10, 2020. The initiatives were presented at the WeGil in Rome by Chief of Staff Albino Ruberti and Regional Councillor Marta Leonori. Lazio Contemporaneo funds works in various media including sculpture, painting, photography, digital art, and site-specific installations, with €400,000 reserved for projects outside Rome. Lazio Street Art supports murals, mosaics, and installations addressing themes of local identity, integration, environment, and heritage, with a maximum of €25,000 per project.
