Régine et ses copines Group Show at Art 3, Valence
The exhibition "Régine et ses copines" at Art 3 in Valence, running from June 22 to August 30, 2002, is curated by artist Régis Pinault, who invited five colleagues: Thomas Bauer, Patrick Guns, Benoît Platéus, Pierre Tatu, and Christophe Terlinde. The show spans multiple venues in the city, with the main space at Art 3 conceived as a human brain. Works explore vision and chromatic perception, with elliptical forms prevalent. Benoît Platéus contributes a watermelon inscribed with "Skull," a clock drawn on the wall, and an ophthalmological sphere. Régis Pinault's gradient color discs on the window resemble eyeglass lenses linked by a chain. Pierre Tatu covers a wall with gradient wallpaper. At the Bourse du Travail, Patrick Guns presents a video of a model airplane competition, edited to create stroboscopic color fusion. Another work by Guns, "Himmelblau" (2001), pairs a giant foosball sculpture with an image of a pistol duel in a football stadium, playing on his surname. Christophe Terlinden proposes diverting the Rhône River to heal the city's division by a highway. The exhibition is organized by Art 3, an association directed by Valérie Cudel, which has run exhibitions, residencies, and artist book publishing for fifteen years.
