Reggia di Venaria Announces Major French Collaborations for 2025-2027 Exhibitions

exhibition · 2026-04-26

The Reggia di Venaria in Turin has unveiled a new exhibition program running from September 2025 to February 2027, strengthening its international ties through partnerships with French institutions. The first show, "Fernand Léger! Yves Klein, Niki de Saint Phalle, Keith Haring," opens September 27, 2025, and runs until February 1, 2026. It explores Léger's influence on subsequent generations, including Nouveau Réalisme, Pop Art, and Street Art, with themes such as the relationship with objects, leisure society, public art, and collective accessibility. Collaborators include the Grand Palais Réunion des musées nationaux, the Musées nationaux du XXe siècle des Alpes-Maritimes, the Musée national Fernand Léger in Biot, and the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain (MAMAC) in Nice. The second exhibition, "Da Matisse a Bacon," scheduled for October 2026 to February 2027, brings about seventy works from the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, tracing 20th- and 21st-century art history through masterpieces by Picasso, Braque, Jawlensky, de Staël, Hantai, Matisse, Léger, Miró, Dubuffet, and Bacon. Notable loans include Matisse's "Katia à la chemise jaune." The program marks a first collaboration between private and public entities across Italy and France, as highlighted by Manifesto EXPO director general Alexandre Colliex.
