Refik Anadol's Gaudí Cube Immerses Visitors in Antoni Gaudí's Mind at Casa Batlló

digital · 2026-04-27

Casa Batlló in Barcelona, a UNESCO World Heritage site designed by Antoni Gaudí, has introduced a new immersive digital installation by Turkish artist Refik Anadol. Titled the Gaudí Cube, the work is a six-screen cube that projects digital artworks synthesizing Gaudí's library and archival materials, offering visitors a 360-degree journey into the architect's creative mind. The installation is part of the broader Casa Batlló 10D Experience, a 2,000-square-meter immersive project that also includes the Gaudí Dôme, a space with over 1,000 screens. The 10D Experience won the Best Achievement Award and the Heritage in Motion award in the category "Games and Interactive Experiences," awarded by Europa Nostra and the European Museum Academy. CEO Gary Gautier oversaw the reorganization of the landmark, which also features a metallic mesh installation by Kengo Kuma. Anadol is known for digitalizing memories, architectures, and narratives.
