Refik Anadol's AI Installation 'Latent Being' at Kraftwerk Berlin

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Turkish artist Refik Anadol (b. 1985) has unveiled 'Latent Being', a new AI-driven installation at Kraftwerk Berlin, produced by LAS Light Art Space. The immersive environmental work is structured in four chapters and feeds over ten million images of Berlin's architecture, visual memory, and soundscape into a machine learning algorithm. The artwork evolves in real time, influenced by visitor movements tracked via a sensor system that also generates a site-specific sound carpet. Anadol's ongoing research explores machine aesthetics and artificial intelligence software.
