Refectionem: Four Artists Explore Vulnerability and Repair at Colla Super, Milan
Colla Super, a young gallery in Milan's Nolo district, presents Refectionem, a group show curated by Mariacristina Ferraioli, running until October 20. The exhibition coincides with the 20th Giornata del Contemporaneo organized by AMACI. Inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, which repairs ceramics with precious metals to highlight fractures, the show invites contemplation on transformation, restoration, and the beauty of vulnerability. The gallery's name, meaning 'glue' in Italian, reflects its mission to bring people together. The four founding artists—Eric Tacchini, Marco Bertani, Fumatto, and Francesco Buonfino—each offer personal interpretations of repair. Tacchini, a fashion and interior design photographer, reveals hidden beauty in cracks. Bertani explores desolate landscapes and unconventional beauty. Fumatto combines techniques to emphasize manual intervention. Buonfino twists reality into 'monstrous' forms, challenging preconceived notions. The exhibition elevates repair beyond a mechanical act into a reflection on aesthetics of vulnerability, countering consumer culture and planned obsolescence.
