Red Sea Museum Opens in Jeddah, Yokohama Triennale Names 2027 Directors, and Major Art Donations Announced

On December 7, the Red Sea Museum opened its doors in Historic Jeddah, featuring more than 1,000 pieces of contemporary art and ancient relics displayed across 23 galleries. Among the highlights is a solo exhibition by Moath Alofi, named 'The Gate of Gates.' Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, the Minister of Culture, reiterated Saudi Arabia's dedication to preserving cultural heritage. Meanwhile, the Asian Art Museum in Berlin acquired Mao Tongqiang's Family Tree from the Sigg Collection, part of the 'All Under Heaven' exhibition since November 28. Cosmin Costinaș and Inti Guerrero have been selected as joint artistic directors for the ninth Yokohama Triennale, scheduled for April 23 to September 12, 2027. Additionally, an anonymous donor contributed 131 contemporary artworks from Hong Kong to the Vancouver Art Gallery. The 17th India Art Fair is set for February 5–8, 2026, in New Delhi.
