The aviation team at Red Bull captured the momentous return of a 1958 DC-6B aircraft to American airspace, utilizing vintage Bolex motion picture cameras from that same period. This aircraft, originally manufactured in Santa Monica, California, made its inaugural flight over the U.S. since its creation, with New York City as its initial destination. The endeavor, named 'DC-6 x Bolex,' featured two Bolex cameras—a H16 Rex 3 from 1963 and a H16 SBM from 1970—alongside Kodak VISION3 50D and 250D film. Cinematographer Khyber Jones filmed an evening flight around New York, including Central Park, from the nose of an A26 Invader. The resulting social media content merged film footage with behind-the-scenes clips, maintaining an authentic analog aesthetic.
