Recent Books Explore Trajectories of Brazilian Artists, from Lorenzato to Laguna

A new list highlights five recent publications focusing on the careers and lives of Brazilian artists. A bilingual book from Ubu Editora, organized by curator Rodrigo Moura, examines the estimated 3,000 to 5,000 paintings of Amadeo Luciano Lorenzato, emphasizing his original technique derived from his work as a painter-decorator and his connection to Belo Horizonte. Ana Elisa Egreja's bilingual book 'Saboneteiras,' published by Act. Editora in partnership with Galeria Leme, focuses on her paintings of soap dishes, with a preface by Jac Leirner and a critical text by Ann Gallagher.
