Rebeca Romero Wins Fifth Edition of OGR Award with Semilla SAGRADA

Rebeca Romero, a Peruvian artist from Lima born in 1982 and currently residing in London, has been awarded the fifth OGR Award for her piece Semilla SAGRADA. This work was showcased at the Duomo of OGR Torino and is now part of the Fondazione per l'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT collection. A 3D rendition can be accessed on Spatial in the Metaverse. Chosen from artists at Artissima 2022, including Marcos Lutyens and Eva & Franco Mattes, Romero received recognition from an international jury that featured Amira Gad and Lars Henrik Gass. The award celebrates the intersection of art, technology, and innovation. Semilla SAGRADA, created with digital embroidery and custom fabrics, delves into a future-ancient civilization that venerates a shape-shifting plant, drawing inspiration from Inca mythology. Luigi Fassi, the director of Artissima, commended its innovative aspects.
