publication · 2026-04-22

On Monday, July 22, 2023, from 18:30 to 21:00, Arts Catalyst in London will host a reading group co-organized by The Political Animal and Afterall Journal. This gathering celebrates the release of Afterall issue 48 and includes a collective reading of Filipa Ramos's piece, "Other Faces: Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook's Interspecies Engagements," along with a screening of a film by Rasdjarmrearnsook and a discussion on the symbolic ties between dogs and humans in modern Thailand. The event is part of the exhibition "Towards the Planetary Commons: Reimagining Infrastructures for Autonomy," which critiques neoliberal policies impacting both human and non-human communities. Founded by Olga Koroleva in February 2016, The Political Animal hosts monthly meetings and has satellite groups in Dublin and Edinburgh. Attendance is free and open to everyone.
