RE-NEW: Ancient Meets Digital at Postmasters Gallery Rome

Postmasters Gallery in Rome presents RE-NEW, a group exhibition featuring seven artists who merge classical motifs with contemporary digital techniques. The show includes works by Kenny Dunkan, Alessandro Giannì, David Humphrey, Christian Rex Van Minnen, Signe Pierce, Wolfgang Staehle, and Nicola Verlato. Verlato applies 3D modeling software to traditional painting. Humphrey's 'Animals on the Lawn' critiques past heroism, while Van Minnen's piece depicts a raspberry with a human head, alluding to biospheric collapse. Staehle's 'Forum Romanum (September 13, 2007)' comprises 13,031 digital photographs from his 'Matter of Time' series, compressing a millennium into a single day. The exhibition explores how ancient forms are repurposed through visual and linguistic connections, creating a critical view of contemporary society dominated by spectacle and image saturation.
