Re:Humanism Prize Offers €10,000 for AI Art Projects
Alan Advantage, an IT company with offices in Rome and Boston, has launched Re:Humanism, an open call for artists of all ages and nationalities to submit works exploring the relationship between humans and algorithms. Curated by Daniela Cotimbo, the prize awards €5,000 to the first-place winner, €3,000 to the second, and a €2,000 residency for the third, who will develop their project with Alan Advantage's AI experts. Ten works will be selected for a group exhibition in Rome. The jury includes Daniela Cotimbo, Alfredo Adamo, Giovanni Losco, Giuseppe Chili, Fabrizio Pizzuto, Elena Giulia Abbiatici, Valentina Tanni, and the artist duo Salvatore Iaconesi & Oriana Persico. The call closes on November 20, 2018, with winners announced by December 15, 2018. No medium restrictions apply; winners may use FabLabs provided by partners Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia and Lazio Innova. The initiative responds to recent AI-themed exhibitions such as "I am here to learn" at Kunstverein Frankfurt and "Low Form" at MAXXI Rome.
