Re-flexio: Marco Zanotti and Gaia Carboni's Vinyl-Art Fusion

Marco Zanotti and Gaia Carboni have collaborated on 'Re-flexio', a limited-edition double 10-inch vinyl record where music and visual art are intrinsically linked. The project pairs Zanotti's first solo album with 64 original micro-engraved aluminum plates by Carboni, each made from recycled scrap metal. The concept originated from Carboni's 2012 work 'Residuo-phos', which inspired Zanotti's compositions. Both artists explore themes of reflection, memory, and transformation, with Carboni's plates revealing imaginary figures through time-corroded surfaces. Zanotti, founder of the Classica Orchestra Afrobeat, used a forced pause to develop this intimate, informal work. Each album copy comes with one of the 64 unique artworks, making every edition distinct. The project emphasizes the organic relationship between sound and visual art, with Carboni describing her works as having an inherent musical soundtrack.
