RDTH Architekti's No-Wall Apartment Redefines Prague Living with Fluid Layout

RDTH architekti, a studio located in Prague, has finalized the No-Wall Apartment in Prague, Czech Republic, which redefines traditional layouts by removing conventional partitions for a seamless design. This renovation confronts the typical post-war cell-like structures prevalent in many European urban residences. At the heart of the space, a slightly angled central block acts as a spatial focal point, delineating the open layout into various areas without solid barriers. Instead of walls, translucent glass blocks, tall textile drapes, and a unique white shelving unit adorned with houseplants enhance the flow of natural light and maintain acoustic and visual privacy. The designers intentionally left visible remnants of removed load-bearing walls, painting them as a testament to the home's evolution. This initiative aligns with a wider trend in Prague, where architects like Prokop & Hartl and Martin Cenek Architecture are creatively reworking older buildings through careful demolition and custom carpentry.
