Razer Huntsman V3 HE Review: First Hall Effect Keyboard

Razer has released its first Hall Effect keyboard, the Huntsman V3 HE, responding to strong customer demand despite the company's continued preference for optical switch technology. The keyboard features a simple, no-frills design without screens, dials, or split spacebars. Its switches are smooth but slightly overlubed, with inconsistent stiffness due to the tray-mount system. The typing sound is clean and clacky, though the spacebar has issues with foam strips causing a squishy feel. Stabilizers are smooth and quiet. The build uses an integrated metal top plate and plastic bottom shell with sound-dampening foam, but the plastic feels thin. The keyboard supports 8,000 Hz polling and offers adjustable actuation from 0.1mm to 4.0mm. Features include Rapid Trigger, Dynamic Keystroke, Snap Flex, and controller emulation. Software customization through Razer Synapse is intuitive. During testing, key repetition and missed inputs occurred. The keyboard is compatible with some third-party switches, such as those from Wooting 60HE. Available in 65% and Tenkeyless configurations, priced at $120 and $140 respectively, both in black.
