Rayyane Tabet and Dara Friedman Dual Exhibitions at Galleria Franco Noero, Turin

exhibition · 2026-05-04

Galleria Franco Noero in Turin is hosting two solo exhibitions: Rayyane Tabet's 'Hidden in plain sight' and Dara Friedman's 'Lover'. Tabet, a Lebanese artist born in 1983 in Achkout, presents five installations—'Still life with neon', 'Fridge and beer', 'Arabic for all ‒ Road Trip', 'A Short History of Lebanon ‒ What Goes Around Comes Around', and 'What Goes Up Must Come Down'—that explore how everyday details contribute to human history. Friedman, born in 1968 in Bad Kreuznach and a student of Austrian filmmaker Peter Kubelka, presents her first solo show in Turin. Her filmic works draw on 20th-century experimental cinema, reducing the medium to its essentials. 'Lover' features an empirical poem set to Claude Debussy's 'Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune', using non-objective color fields to dissolve materiality and evoke an intimate sensory experience. The exhibition includes a depiction of a phallic woman (Ur-mensch). The shows are held at the gallery's via Mottalciata location and the 'In Residence' space.
