Rasheed Araeen's relational project Shamiyaana at documenta 14
Rasheed Araeen presents Shamiyaana—Food for Thought: Thought for Change (2016–17) at Kotzia Square in Athens, a participatory wooden gazebo with patchwork decoration and seating. The project, realized with Greek nonprofit Organization Earth, offers free daily meals at 1pm and 7pm until documenta 14 ends. Araeen, born in Karachi in 1935, founded the London-based journal Third Text in 1987, focusing on contemporary art and Third World cultures. Third Text previously contributed to documenta 12's The Magazine Project in 2007.
