Rapolitique: Using Hip-Hop to Decode Society

Sami Ben Taleb, 22, runs Rapolitique, a media outlet that uses rap music as a lens to analyze social and political issues. He took over the platform after joining as a volunteer during his third year of a BUT Information-Communication degree. Rapolitique has since grown to over 10,000 subscribers and launched a successful event format. Ben Taleb emphasizes the importance of a strong editorial line that blends politics and music, distinguishing Rapolitique from standard music news outlets. The outlet covers current events, artist profiles, educational content on history and sociopolitical topics, and entertainment. Ben Taleb organized Rapolitique's first concert as part of his final-year project, drawing inspiration from the Séquence party series. He advises aspiring music professionals to be curious, network actively, and attend events like open mics and conferences. Ben Taleb also credits Hichame, director of Cercle Vertueux, as a key mentor. Looking ahead, he plans to shift towards a content creator model to better connect with audiences.
