exhibition · 2026-04-28

Raphael Fonseca and Amanda Carneiro have been chosen as curators for the 37th Bienal de São Paulo, which will take place in the latter half of 2027 at Pavilhão Ciccillo Matarazzo in Ibirapuera Park. This decision marks a return to Brazilian curatorial leadership, made through a thorough selection process involving the foundation's presidency and its international advisory council. The curatorial project is scheduled for presentation in the second half of 2025. Since 2018, Carneiro has served as a curator at MASP, focusing on Brazilian narratives and holding a degree in Social History from the University of São Paulo. Fonseca, a curator at Culturgest and the Denver Art Museum, recently worked on the Taiwan Pavilion for the 2026 Venice Biennale.
