RAP's 'Rap e Belzebù' Exhibition at Casa del Cinema in Rome

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Chiara Rapaccini, known as RAP, presents 'Rap e Belzebù' at Casa del Cinema in Rome from March 8 to April 2, 2024. The exhibition features 12 installations of painted sheets based on photographs from Mario Monicelli's private archive, including images of the director, actors like Mastroianni, Virna Lisi, Totò, and Magnani, and private snapshots. RAP used techniques such as brush, acrylic, drypoint, embroidery, comics, and free writing on the photos and large cotton drapes. The sheets are described as 'light as ghosts, swaying like washed clothes drying in the sun,' dedicated to Monicelli, her lifelong companion. Simultaneously, RAP is launching her memoir 'Mio amato Belzebù. L’amara Dolce vita con Monicelli e compagnia' (Giunti), recounting her love story with Monicelli and her artistic journey, intertwined with the golden age of Italian cinema.
