other · 2026-04-27

Starting September 11 in prime time on Rai5, Art Rider is a new original format by Gioia Avvantaggiato and Paolo Fazzini, produced by GA&A Productions in collaboration with Rai Cultura. Hosted by Andrea Angelucci, an archaeologist, tour guide, and travel designer, the six-episode series (52 minutes each) takes viewers to little-known or overlooked locations across Italy. Angelucci carries a notebook in which he sketches monuments and details of artworks encountered along the way. Directed by Francesco Principini with scripts by Paolo Fazzini and Chiara Vannoni, the episodes visit Gabii, Subiaco, the Aniene valley, Rome, Melfi, Tagliacozzo, Gran Sasso, Monte Amiata, Valnerina, Bomarzo Park, the Scarzuola, Pietravairano, Cancello, the Gulf of Naples, the submerged city of Baia, Monte D'Accoddi, and Sant'Antioco in Sardinia. The series highlights UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage traditions like transhumance, and explores Greek icons, Byzantine mosaics, Nuragic civilization, and Phoenician heritage.
