Ragusa Foto Festival 2016: Workshops, Palmira Photos, and Sicilian Galleries

The Ragusa Foto Festival, now in its fifth edition, will take place from July 22 to August 21, 2016, in Ragusa Ibla, Sicily, at venues including Palazzo La Rocca, Palazzo Cosentini, and Chiesa San Vincenzo Ferreri. This year, under the guidance of new artistic director Giorgio Barrera, the festival emphasizes the Mediterranean theme and offers workshops, such as a four-day intensive session by Alterazioni Video from July 18–21. The opening days, from July 22 to 25, will feature exhibitions, discussions, and screenings, including Marco Cruciani's documentary 'Calma e Gesso – in viaggio con Dondero.' A historical exhibition will display 70 prints from 1910 by Tony André, alongside solo exhibitions by Moira Ricci and Olivo Barbieri. Additionally, on July 24, a talk curated by Helga Marsala will address market challenges with directors from prominent Sicilian galleries.
