Raffaello 1520-1483: Monumental Exhibition at Scuderie del Quirinale
On March 5, 2020, the Scuderie del Quirinale in Rome unveils the largest exhibition ever dedicated to Raphael, commemorating the 500th anniversary of his passing. Named RAFFAELLO 1520-1483, the showcase includes over 200 masterpieces from renowned institutions, such as the Louvre and the National Gallery of London. Curated by Marzia Faietti and Matteo Lafranconi, the exhibition emphasizes Raphael's time in Rome, following a reverse chronological path that begins with his death on April 6, 1520. Highlighted pieces comprise the Madonna del Granduca and portraits of Popes Julius II and Leo X. The exhibition has already sold 60,000 tickets online and will be open until June 2, 2020, featuring a multimedia installation that recreates Raphael's ancient Rome map.
