Raffaella Cortese Gallery Marks 30 Years in Milan with Interview

Raffaella Cortese Gallery in Milan celebrates its 30th anniversary. Founded on May 11, 1995, in the Città Studi district, the gallery began with a show of Franco Vimercati in Cortese's student apartment. It has since introduced American artists like Roni Horn, Barbara Bloom, and Jessica Stockholder to Italy, and focused on feminist art with solo shows for Jitka Hanzlová, Kiki Smith, Zoe Leonard, and Kimsooja. In 2002, the group show 'Perturbamento' featured Sophie Calle, Destiny Deacon, Annette Messager, Gina Pane, Carol Rama, and Jana Sterbak. In 2022, a second space opened in Albisola Superiore, Savona. Cortese serves as vice-president of ANGAMC and represents Italy in FEAGA.
