Raffaella Carrà documentary 'Raffa' hits Italian cinemas in July 2023

A documentary film titled 'Raffa' about the life and career of Italian TV icon Raffaella Carrà will be released as a special event in Italian cinemas from July 6 to 12, 2023, distributed by Nexo Digital. Directed by Daniele Luchetti, the film was written by Cristiana Farina with Carlo Altinier, Barbara Boncompagni, Salvatore Coppolino, and Salvo Guercio. It is an original Disney+ title produced by Fremantle. The documentary features interviews with those who knew Carrà and archival footage, covering her public and private life: her childhood in Romagna marked by her father's abandonment, her relationship with Frank Sinatra, her two great loves, regret over not having children, triumphs, failures, crises, and rebirths. Carrà, who would have turned 80 on June 18, 2023, sold 60 million records and became a symbol of freedom and gender equality in the 1970s, queen of public TV in the 1980s, and an LGBTQ+ icon in the 1990s. The film will be available exclusively on Disney+ from December 27, 2023.
