Raffaela Mariniello and Eugenio Tibaldi Dialogue at Certosa di San Giacomo, Capri

At the Certosa di San Giacomo in Capri, the exhibition 'Capri B&B – Behind and Beyond' brings together photographers Raffaela Mariniello (born 1961, Naples) and Eugenio Tibaldi (born 1977, Alba) in a dialogue curated by Adriana Rispoli. The show runs until July 31, 2016. Mariniello's photographic works—including 'Eremo,' 'Blue Grotto,' 'Val di sole,' and 'Capri Teorema'—explore desire and nostalgia through traces of daily life and ritualized forms, evoking a suspended, ethereal atmosphere. Her installation 'Ferite a morte' features two shaved buoys that transform the marble floor into a watery surface, while 'Lost and Found' comments on tourism. Tibaldi contributes large-scale installations in the cloister, such as '64 Bed Places,' which reproduces the cusps of the Faraglioni rocks (habitat of the blue lizard and Virgil's Sirens) as a symbolic reflection on the murmur of things. His works 'Myth's Landscape' and 'Myth's Architecture' condense island wonders, while 'Capri Stone' meditates on private property versus natural spectacle. The collaborative piece 'Capri B&B' addresses the Natural Arch, a rock formation shaped by marine erosion, and the relationship between humans and nature. The exhibition is part of the museum complex at Via Certosa 1, Capri.
