Radio drama 'My Name Is Depero' airs on Swiss radio

Swiss radio RSI Rete due is broadcasting 'My Name Is Depero', a ten-episode radio drama about Futurist artist Fortunato Depero (1892–1960), airing until May 22, 2020. Written by Gaetano Cappa and Marco Drago, and directed by Cappa, the drama stars actor Massimiliano Speziani as Depero. It focuses on Depero's first American sojourn from 1928 to 1930, framed as a flashback set in 1933 when Depero visits the Eiar studios in Milan for the program 'Impressioni d'America'. The script draws on materials from the Fondo Depero at MART – Museo d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto. During research, Cappa and Drago discovered a mock-up of 'New York film vissuto', a planned multimedia book that would have included texts, lyrics, drawings, and two phonograph records by Depero, though the records have not been found. The drama airs weekdays at 13:30 on Rete Due and is available for streaming via www.rsi.ch.
