Radian EXR electric enduro motorcycle swaps batteries in under 30 seconds
Dutch startup Radian has unveiled the EXR, its first production electric enduro motorcycle, featuring a patent-pending battery-swapping system that allows riders to replace depleted packs in under 30 seconds without tools. The competition-ready bike is powered by a 70-horsepower drivetrain with a 336-volt electric motor, carbon-sleeved rotor, and proprietary inverter, delivering 1060 Nm of torque directly to the rear wheel. It uses Radian's curved InfiniPack battery system; the production model comes with an 8.6 kWh Endurance battery offering 60–115 km of race-pace range or up to seven hours of riding, with a lighter 5.8 kWh Sprint pack planned later. The EXR's aluminum subframe integrates a modular Smart Storage system, eliminating the need for backpacks, and doubles as a thermal interface for cooling. Riders can adjust throttle response and power delivery via a mobile app. The motorcycle features KYB suspension, Brembo brakes, and a stripped-back industrial aesthetic with exposed fasteners and ribbed bodywork. A limited Founders Edition includes Haan wheels with Excel A60 rims. Radian was founded in 2021 in the Dutch region of Twente, building on experience from Electric Superbike Twente, which won the 2018 MotoE championship. The company collaborates with the University of Twente and Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Advanced Manufacturing. The EXR will launch in selected European markets from Q4 2027.
