Rachid Ouramdane's Corps extrêmes at NYU Abu Dhabi

festival-fair · 2026-04-22

On 12 and 13 May 2023, The Arts Center at New York University Abu Dhabi will host Rachid Ouramdane's Corps extrêmes, presented by Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels. This innovative work merges dance with extreme sports, featuring highliner Nathan Paulin and climber Nina Caprez, along with eight acrobats from Compagnie XY. The performance area includes a climbing wall and tightrope, enhanced by projections of breathtaking landscapes, with a score composed by Jean-Baptiste Julien. This event marks the conclusion of Dance Reflections' inaugural year, which commenced in 2020, following its partnership with The Arts Center that began in 2022. Serge Laurent, Director of Dance and Culture Program at Van Cleef & Arpels, notes that the piece reflects a desire to escape the human experience.
